Maintenance Mechanic

Incumbent is an integral team member in the park's maintenance division and is supervised by the Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist. Incumbent is responsible for preventive, corrective maintenance activities of equipment for Park Potable water, HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical infrastructure systems. Incumbent serves as a certified water operator of 3 independent ground source water disinfection treatment facilities. Incumbent maintains, operates, repairs and alters the electrical control of these systems and the park's fire and intrusion alarm system. Incumbent maintains repairs and alters plumbing fixtures in the park. Incumbent's work is to be performed safely. Other duties may include custodial, grounds care, snow removal and painting. Incumbent's work will be performed in both interior and exterior settings, in various weather conditions and on uneven surfaces. These conditions can include dark and dimly lighted areas, in confined space, as well as attic and crawl spaces of buildings. To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
The possession of a Kansas State Class 1 Water Operators' certification or equivalent from another state, is a condition of employment. Should the appointee be unable to obtain a Kansas State Class 1 Water Operators' certification, within 9 months of entering on duty the appointee will be terminated for failure to meet a condition of employment. and Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT)Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprints reading)Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentKnowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation Repair, etc.Knowledge of materialsTechnical Practices (theoretical precise, artistic)Use of Measuring Instructions If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration.
